Spray Painting a Light Fixture

After updating our bathroom cabinet knob and soap pump with spray paint, the brushed nickel bathroom light was looking a bit out of place, both placement and color wise.

Although it didn’t look its best, it wasn’t horrible enough to make me want to change it right away. Then the walls acquired some color, and the light fixture looked even worse. But hey, at least it is centered now!

It didn’t take me long to decide that the light fixture needed to change. A reader even suggested it, putting addition fire under my behind. Instead of dishing out cash to replace it, I opted for spray paint. (I like using this brand.)

The sockets actually slipped right out of their casing. Now that I think about it, I didn’t even have to unscrew the sockets, which would have prevented me from losing one of the screws down the drain. (If you noticed that one of the bulbs in lopsided, that is why.) Lesson learned, right?

Sure, it’s not one of the light fixtures I initially wanted, but it does the trick and actually looks pretty nice!

The bathroom is nearing its completion and I find that pretty exciting. Next up; shelves, accessories, and some pretty after photos!

  4. Looks great. It's a really good idea to decorate your bathroom. It looks more beautiful now. But why you don't use the white color for the light fixtures? I think it will be OK.
