August Thrift Store Finds

Ready for another round of thrift store finds? I thought so. I didn’t find much in August but what I did find was pretty great.

For instance, August’s books are equal to July’s books in greatness. Check out that Boy Scout book! It is filled with so many great tips like lashing, Morse code signaling, and stalking – animals, of course. You know, things you do. Hiding underneath the Henry IV and Boy Scout book is The Adventures of Marco Polo and an Ernest Hemingway book.

These audio book records are pretty awesome. Now I just need to find a record player for them. (This one would do, don’t you think?) There are four in all; Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Rabbit, The Wizard of Oz and Lady and the Tramp.

These three children’s classics (I can call them that, right?) will all be used for the younger kids’ first year of homeschool so hoarding them now is completely excusable. That vintage scalloped bowl on top is so perfectly imperfect. The only logical thing I can think to do with it is to put a plant in there – can’twait.

I thought these rulers were an amazing find until I got to the car and realized they were both broken (on the bottom side). Oh well, they’re still pretty great.

Lastly, I scored some classic art reprints. Not pictured is a impressionism calender filled with great reprinted pieces by Monet and Van Gogh, along with others I can’t think of at the top of my head.

So what’s your favorite? I’m going to let you in on a little secret, most of these things were found at an Estate Sale. Some of the books, the art, the rulers – estate sale finds. But that’s the fun part about having a “Thrift Store Finds” section on my very own blog; I can share estate sale finds too. I know, if I’m not careful the blog police might come fine me. That’s not a real thing, right!?
