I recently discovered the wonderful world of homemade marshmallows. I was pretty intimidated to make them myself but it turns out they aren’t that hard to concoct. I made some and dipped them in chocolate for Eliana’s Zebra Party (more on that some other time) and they were a huge hit. Here’s how I did it.

Ingredients
Marshmallows (I used this recipe)
4 oz semi sweet or bittersweet chocolate (I love this brand)
Sprinkles
Instructions
1. Chop the chocolate and melt it in a double broiler. Alternatively, you can melt it in a saucepan over low heat while stirring constantly.
2. Dip the marshmallows in the melted chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off and place the marshmallows, dipped side up, on a parchment lined baking sheet.
3. Sprinkle the marshmallows while the chocolate is still warm.
4. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden, then enjoy!

You could substitute the sprinkles for crushed candy canes or Andes mints for an edible Christmas gift. In fact, I’m in the process of making a few batches of homemade marshmallows to give as Christmas gifts.
Do you have any edible treats in the works for Christmas?
Yummy! This is on my bucket list;)
