One Room Challenge Week 3: Bathroom Lighting Options

It’s week three of the Fall 2018 One Room Challenge! Be sure to check out week one for the before photos and week two for the paint I decided on. This week I want to talk about lighting. I knew from the get go that I wanted to replace the vanity light with a brass fixture. Whatever fixture I decided also needed to be within my shoestring budget. Enter the world of Amazon. I initially ordered this single light sconce and quickly installed it in the freshly painted bathroom. Rookie mistake. Swapping out a double sconce for a single sconce was not the brightest decision.

I returned to Amazon to find another light, this time narrowing my search down to only double sconces. I landed on the following four styles.

Now, here’s the deal: I love the vintage look of one and three and am inclined to go for a more modern vintage feel in the bathroom (thanks to the mirror). BUT, I also love the more modern sconce (two). I am, however, worried it will clash with the art deco-ish mirror. I am also debating if I should still with brass (uh, duh) or play it safe with black.

Help! What do you think?

  1. I love brass, so that gets my vote! Honestly, though, you can’t go wrong with any of your choices.

    1. Brass definitely has my heart, too.
