Small Change, Big Impact

Our home is no stranger to Bible verses; there are a few framed in our living room and in the children’s shared room. Our refrigerator even sported small handwritten verses haphazardly placed, which weren’t the best looking and were hard to read.

Since our refrigerator can be seen from almost any angle in our living room, dining room and kitchen, I wanted it to be more appealing (of course, the rust stains and scratches weren’t helping); I also wanted to replace those illegible Bible verses with ones that I could actually read throughout the day. By printing out some verses and handwriting others, I accomplished both of those goals.

Along with the Bible verses – Psalm 139:16, Colossians 1:17, Exodus 14:14, Romans 8:28, and Philippians 3:8 – I also taped up a quote from Ruth Hulburt Hamilton and a calender from Whimseybox (which is the month of January – oops).

It’s not perfect but it’s an improvement from before. I am mostly excited about being able to read the Bible verses that are up there – which serve as encouragements on a daily basis.

Do you like displaying Bible verses or quotes in your home? Which ones encourage you on hard – or easy – days?

  1. I laminated mine and put them all over the house and even in our cars. I painted and decorated the cards. The one I recited most often when our girls were little was "Let us not grow weary in doing something good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Gal 6:9

  2. That is a beautiful verse, thanks for sharing!
