Moody Green Bathroom Makeover – One Room Challenge Week 6

It’s reveal day for the Fall 2018 One Room Challenge! To see what I’ve been up to, check out week one, week two, week three, week four, and week five.

It’s been six weeks since I first showed you before photos of my hall bathroom. With it’s blank white walls and beige wall tiles, it really wasn’t an offensive room. In fact, it was almost enjoyable. Being a woman who loves a good white wall, everyone around me was shocked when I expressed a desire to paint this room green. And honestly, once the paint was on the walls, it wasn’t love at first site. But now, now that the room is complete, I’m starting to feel more and more comfortable with it.

To remind you where I began, here is the bathroom just six weeks ago.

And here we are today! All of the sources are listed at the bottom of this post.

This past week I focused on all of the accessories for the bathroom. A new toilet paper holder (the important things!), towel hooks, and the perfect sized shelf for above the toilet.

What I feel really pulls this whole room together is the Audubon Mangrove Cuckoo print and amber canisters on the shelf. Not many people know this about me but I am an unashamed bird lady. I will totally nerd out at the slightly sound of a bird and I’m raising my children to do the same. I’ve never actually seen a Mangrove Cuckoo, although it is only found in the United States in my home state. It seems fitting and very Floridian of me to frame it. I may not have seashells and sandal photos in my house but at least I have a native bird in a frame.

The next best thing in this bathroom is my new favorite towels from none other than Target. I may even steal them for my bathroom (see that makeover here) since they are the softest and have the prettiest subtle pattern.

I couldn’t decide whether to take photos with the light on or off, so I’m sharing both. The double sconce was definitely the right decision. After debating between black and brass, I’m glad I went with the brass globe light. It’s sold on Amazon Prime for less than $100 and although it’s no Schoolhouse Electric light, it’s a great deal for the price.

This bathroom feels so sophisticated to me, almost like it’s too good to belong in my all-white-walled house. I definitely went out of my comfort zone for this makeover but in the end am glad I did.

And because I love a good before and after, here’s one more.
